May : Part 2

This has certainly been a summer! The kids have been so challenging these last couple months. They are both at "half" ages, which from personal experience, and from the opinion of quite a few other mommies I know, seem to be harder times. I am definitely learning lessons in patience and creative thinking, that is for sure. It's a good thing I  really, really love these little boogers so much! :) Don't get me wrong, they are still sweet, wonderful kids, they are just challenging authority and learning how to be nice and loving to each other right now, which isn't easy for anyone. Sigh....Ok, pity party over! We did have some great times in May. Here is the second half of our month!

We broke out the pool for the backyard. Riley was just happy that it was finally time for popcicles!

Cute little wet footprints

Play Doh is also a big thing in our house these days.

My little sis graduated from grad school at CSU!

I got some beautiful flowers for Mother's Day, a great card that the kids made, got taken out to breakfast then on a beautiful drive, and for dinner, Matt took me to The Melting Pot....alone!!! ;)

I have so much fun with my honey! He really is my best friend. We were laughing so hard at the end of this picture series! Great time. :)

Riley had his pre-school graduation, although he technically didn't graduate since he will go again next year. It was really cute!

Mrs. Staiano, his wonderful teacher

Mrs. Saul, the wonderful classroom aide

The best family photo we could get

Watching the tractor mow the lot next to us.

Pretty girl!

New goggles!

We made star shaped crayons from broken ones that we already had. Riley is too funny! I told him to smile for the camera, and I got...

He cracks me up! I told him I wanted a real smile, and I got...

Ha! Too funny! :) The kids were excited to watch the crayons melt in the oven. Then when they were cool, they couldn't care less, and didn't want to color with them at all. The fun part was over, I guess!

My dad came up to help my sister get moved. We got to join them for lunch and a cupcake! Boy were the kids excited to have surprise (to them) time with their Duke!

Our neighborhood pool opened up on Memorial Day weekend. The kids were really excited!

Wearing Mommy's sun hat.

Sweet brother "reading" to his sissy. This makes my heart so happy!

The little train in the park opened up Memorial Day weekend as well! Riley almost couldn't contain himself for this one! :)

Hailey got a black eye. :( She was carrying Riley's sit-and-spin, and face planted onto the handle. It must not have hurt too badly because she only cried for 10 seconds or so, and was back to smiling right after that. Poor baby!
Pretty baby smiling with her black eye

Playing with water balls. They love love love love love these things.

Two days after the black eye incident, Hailey fell off the couch and hit her other eye on the coffee table! It looks way worse in the picture than it really was. It was a little cut below her eye. She just kept rubbing her eye, which made it bleed a little. My poor girl! She does have a brother to keep up with though! Boy, going out with her looking like this, you can really tell who has had children and who hasn't by the types of looks you get! This little girl is going to be one tough cookie.
(Just FYI, when I am posting this, her cut is already totally healed, and the black eye is almost gone!)

New sprinkler for the yard.

One day at nap, I hear snoring coming from right behind me. I went to Riley's door, and he had fallen asleep on the floor right behind the door! So funny and cute. I shimmied the camera until I was able to get a picture. :)

That was our May! Thanks for reading, and here is to an injury free, good attitude filled month of June!
